The Pillai College of Arts Commerce & Science, New Panvel won the Mumbai University Handball Championship (Men) Gold Medal and First position in the tournament held at Ramshet Thakur College of Commerce & Science, Khargar on 6th - 7th October, 2018. Pillai boys retrieved their lost glory of Mumbai Handball Champion after gap of 10 years. In the final knock out cum 4 teams league round the team downed a mighty CHM College, Dombivali with a goal an average of 5 goal differences. Mehaboob Shaikh and Dhaman preet played out standing games throughout the tournament. In the Women section the Pillai team won Bronze medal by beating BPCA Wadala. In the semi-finals they lost to the champion KC College Mumbai who won the women’s title. Two more Pillai men teams namely Pillai College of Engineering (PCE) stood 4th and Pillai Physical Education College (VCPER), Khanda Colony came 5th and the tournament.
