Mahatma Education Society's Pillai HOC Educational Campus has organized a Mini Marathon at Pen to stress the need on quality education with a slogan "Education for all and All for Education" - A massive crowed mostly students and youths in thousands participated in the Run. The Marathon conducted in as many 4 categories 5 km, 7 km and 10 km on 20th December, 2014.
It was the first of it kinds happening at Pen the entrance of Konkan. Cash prizes, Certificates and Trophies awarded to the winners of all the categories by Mahatma Education Society. The race starts from Pen Municipal Stadium and went towards Khopoli by pass and return to the stadium after passed through various token points.
Chairperson of Pen Municipal Council Mrs. Pritam Lalith Patil presented the venue as a Chief guest for prize distribution ceremony and gave away the prizes. Earlier in the morning 07:30 hrs Mr. Anirudh Raviseth Patil Flagged-off the race along with Dy. CEO Mahatma Education Society Dr. Mrs. Lata Menon and Public relation Officer Mrs. Nivedita Shreyans.
The response from the people as a whole is tremendous and encouraging as thousands participated in the run and it was beyond our expectation - Said Padmakshan Padmanabhan, Director of Sports and Organizing Chairman of the event.
