"Pillai Soccer Fiesta - 2018" Attract Footballers across Mumbai

"Pillai Soccer Fiesta - 2018" organized by Mahatma Education Society's Sports Control Board on 6th - 7th October 2018, received good response across the city. The 5-a-side Prize money tournament was held on knock out basis and a total of 19 teams from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai & Raigad participated in the two days tourney and it was a great experience for young footballers of the state to feel the joy of soccer on a rubberised Poly urethane turf of the Multi-functional outdoor sports complex of Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus, New Panvel.

In the interesting final AJ FC-Navi Mumbai beat Rangers FC, Kalina (2-1) in a tie breaker and in the semifinal AJ FC beat Khalsa FC Kalamboli (2-0) and Rangers on the way to final beat Sparten FC, Panvel by 4-2. A cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- and a trophy awarded to the winners. Runners-up team and losers of the semi finals were awarded with Rs. 5,000/-, Rs. 1,500/- and Rs. 1,500/- respectively. The runners-up team also awarded with a trophy.
